Getting started

Basic Guide

To edit or create a page, you must first be registered and logged in and have a valid email on file. If the system will not accept your email address, notify the admin via PM in the forums or by email and include your username.

Creating a Page

To create a new page, simply type in the desired page name in the address bar of your browser, after "title=". You will be taken to a blank page with that name. Amongst the tabs at the top pf the page, you will see "create". Click, and it will take you to the page editor. Enter whatever you want the page to display. Click "Show preview" if you want to see how the page will look; the editor will appear beneath the preview. When you are finished, click the "Save page" button at the bottom.

Another way to create a page is to click a red link on a page, which will bring you to the editor for a page by that name. From there, enter your text and save. The red link will have turned blue, indicating that the page now exists.

Editing a Page

To edit a page, click the "edit" tab that appears at the top; you will be brought to the same editor page as the "create" tab. Enter the information you wish to have. Press the "Show preview" button at the bottom to preview the page with your edits (the editor text box will appear beneath the preview), and "Save page" to save your changes.

Several buttons sit on top of the text box - pressing them will enter different bits of code for things such as headers, links, bold text, images, etc. Some HTML also works in the wiki, such as tables. For numbers lists, use # (pound) for each entry; for bullets, use * (astrisk) for each entry; to have lists withing lists, simply use more per line (* for an item, ** for a sub-item).

To put a page into a category, enter the category title in double brackets [[]] (internal link). Categories automatically appear at the bottom of a page. If you try to preview, it will appear under the editing box.

For redirect pages, use the code #REDIRECT followed by the desired page name in double brackets [[]] (internal link). If the redirect points to a category, the page name must be entered as :Category:Page Title or the redirect will be placed in the category. Redirect pages are useful for allowign altername search terms to find a page; for example, and redirect named "Ben" could point to "Benjamin Franklin" and allow anyone who looks for "Ben" to automatically go to "Benjamin Franklin" without having to enter the entire name.
