Human
From WOiD Wiki
Humans are the dominant life form on Astraea and commonly regard themselves as the only one with sentience. On average, a human lifespan is around 70 years long (though 120 years or more has been reached on occasion, not often by natural means), with puberty being reached during the teen years.

General Appearance
Humans have great variety in their appearance, even naturally. Adult heights usually vary between about 5 to 6 foot tall, though they have been recorded as low as around 3 foot and as high nearly 9 foot. Weights vary with height, but it is generally considered healthy for a normal adult to weigh between 125 and 250 pounds.
Skin color, on humans, is naturally a shade a brown, ranging from the very pale to the very dark, most being somewhere between. Many humans get tattoos which changes parts their skin color, and some even choose to have get their bodies dyed.
Natural hair colors are generally scattered across the brown ranges, though red and blonde aren't uncommon; in some cases, hair is dark enough to truly be black, or light enough to be white even at a young age. It will also vary in thickness, texture, curl, and shine. In old age (generally considered 40+ years) Hair tends to thin out and turn grey or white. Adding to the colors, humans will often dye their hair, usually sticking to more natural-looking colors, but frequently going for bright or "wild" colors, giving themselves a rainbow of possibilities. Hair style also varies greatly, with many humans seeming to believe that "anything goes."
Abilities
Physically, the average human has no extraordinary abilities. However, human intelligence allows for a wide range of specialized skills, making humans one of the most flexible of races. Human expertise is unmatched in many fields, and there are few skills that a human cannot turn to its advantage in survival situations. A human may be versed in any of the following areas of knowledge:
- Science -- Engineering, chemistry, mechanics, electronics, genetics and other biology, archaeology and other history, exotic technology, etc.
- Arts -- Literature, music, agriculture, cooking, crafting, construction, acrobatics, martial arts both armed and unarmed, etc.
- Magic (uncommon) -- Elementalism, nature magic, ritual magic, necromancy, alchemy, divination, psychic abilities, etc.
Humans are also the race most likely to seek various non-natural enhancements, such as can be gotten by altering genetics or incorporating cybernetics into their bodies; even among humans, though, such practices are uncommon, especially those which go beyond cosmetics or necessary prosthetics.
Note: Magic has not yet had much development, and the types which actually exist in WOiD are still uncertain.
Culture
Human attitudes are as varied as their fields of expertise. They possess a stronger sense of individualism than most other social races, and as such each human typically sets its own path in life. Hence, a human can fill any ethical niche.
Humans may be solitary, but more often they live in close-knit family units and social circles. Some seek the freedom of a wandering or nomadic lifestyle, while others enjoy the stability of an established home. Governments of various forms exist to maintain order in communities and nations, though many humans choose to challenge these systems and live outside the law. Paradoxically, such rogue behavior is rebuked by the establishment but is at the same time considered socially acceptable. Rebellion, it seems, is the cornerstone of humans' outlook on life.
